• make the terminal type a passed parameter instead of a hard-coded value.
• add telnet state booleans for needed options (linemode, control flow)
• negotiate line mode
• detect non-printing characters, such as Ctrl-A, that will not print, but mess the off and minOff.
• make sure vt100 coloring does not interfere with character counting
• Test all cases of offsetUpdateMask values. So far tested no-lock
• find out how to allow editing of text on many lines
